São Vicente hosts a major conference that marks the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Cape Verde

The National Assembly is holding, in São Vicente, this Friday, September 30, at the Mindelo Cultural Center, “a great Conference” involving preferably the legal, academic and student classes, as well as the whole society interested in matters of the Constitution.

According to a press release sent to our editorial office, this is an opportunity to exalt our Fundamental Law and recognize the role it has played in the development of our Country, while evaluating its performance and adaptation to the profound changes that have taken place in the last three decades.

Its theme will be “The Constitution and Rights, in Times of Crisis”, and will analyze the resilience of the current CRCV, in the face of the multiple crises we have experienced in this period, especially the last ones that affect us today; how she managed to resist defending human rights, freedoms and dignity among us.

It will develop two themes (General Guidelines for a Health Emergency Code: Jusconstitutional Challenges; The Constitution of the Republic of 1992 and Combating the Covid 19 Pandemic Crisis – Focus on the Exercise of Human Rights in Cape Verde), in two independent and sequenced panels, counting on two lecturers and two moderators, all personalities sufficiently recognized for the works and performances already demonstrated.

Thus, within the scope of this Conference, the President of the National Assembly will pay, this Thursday, September 29, a courtesy visit to the Mayor of São Vicente.
